The second-generation family-owned Biffs, Inc. is the premier portable restroom provider in the Twin Cities metro area. They have thousands of portable restrooms deployed to events and other locations that require service and sanitation.
Biffs wanted to eliminate the additional expense of leasing and create a “home” for their company.
“Luck would have it that we were fortunate to have trusted colleagues who referred us and knew the value and expertise of what Shaw Construction would bring to our project. Upon our first meeting with the owners of Shaw Construction, our guts told us that this was who we could trust our ‘once in a lifetime’ dream of building our own space. The abilities of this team are impressive.”
Shaw worked with the client to create a look communicating their company values and brand esthetics for their headquarters.
Biffs now owns their headquarters and and operates an efficient on-site facility with unique features designed for their business, setting the company up for future growth.
Solutions Required
Long lead times for steel, precast, and storm structures could have delayed the start of construction.
Early in the design process, these materials were identified and pre-ordered so construction would not be stalled.
Due to the site location and Biffs’ unwavering environmental commitment, wastewater must be cleaned before being released to support life in the local rivers and surrounding areas.
Shaw led the design and gained unique approval from the local watershed district for an underground chamber system to collect runoff from their exterior washing operations.
